WYNWOOD WALLS
Welcome to the Wynwood District in Miami, where every wall is covered with a more impressive work of art than the next.
A once "bad part of town" the district is now teeming with color as far as the eye can see, plenty of foot traffic, stunning masterpieces, cute shops and restaurants and just about every blogger that has an Instagram account, (guilty)! On our most recent trip to Miami we spent the day in Wynwood photographing the walls. I'll say this: there's something for everyone. From more classically beautiful murals, to fresh modern takes on the world around us, to gradients and colors. We found ourselves giddy and snapping away, mostly in awe of how many talented people there are in this world and how glad we were to experience a part of their minds. It is absolutely worth your time if you make a trip to Miami. Yes the beaches are great but I have no doubt Wynwood will leave you inspired on all counts!
A few tips! Be sure to check out and support the local shops. Some of our favorites are Mimo Market, FrangiPani, & Plant The Future. When it comes to parking, my suggestion is one of the pay to park lots. It will run you anywhere from $5-$20 but it's worth the Central location and peace of mind! Remember to explore! Wynwood Walls itself is a pretty contained area but the district is covered in murals. Be sure to see more than the handful you've already seen on your computer screen!
